Brown Deer, Sun Prairie, Fitchburg and Middleton are the latest agencies to "go live," bringing the total to 29 police and sheriffs' departments fully connected to the WIJIS Justice Gateway.
Brown Deer Police Department has established its own connection to the Gateway, while the departments of Sun Prairie, Middleton and Fitchburg have successfully connected their shared records system.
As of October 1, 1078 users across the State are able to search through "pointers" to over 1.6 million local police incident reports. The Gateway project continues to grow, with an additional 45 agencies in the process of getting their records systems connected and another 46 who are in the process of applying for grant funding to do so.
Using the Gateway to access shared information is free to all criminal justice personnel, even if your agency is not sharing its records. Send an email to wijis@wisconsin.gov to request a user sign-up form.
