Kenosha and Winnebago County agencies contributing data to the WIJIS Justice Gateway have successfully implemented "Record Retrieval" -- the ability for users to request additional details on a specific record. The request is made by the Gateway user in real time and goes directly to the original agency's records system for the information. The agency returns an incident report in either full or abbreviated format, at the agency's discretion.

The WIJIS Justice Gateway is experiencing broad acceptance from a variety of law enforcement communities.

Captain Shawn Noel of the Brown Deer Police Department said, "The process of getting on the WIJIS system was relatively quick and easy. I believe it was a smooth project due to the dedicated staff at OJA and our RMS vendor. As for the system itself, we are very excited to have such a vast amount of information available to use us at our fingertips. The partial name searches are extremely helpful and much more efficient."

Additionally, Assistant Chief David Leifer of the Lake Delton Police Department stated, "I think this is an awesome asset for law enforcement"

The police chief of a small department in southwestern Wisconsin reports that his department has successfully used the Gateway to aid in investigations of suspicious activities.

The Justice Gateway reached a new milestone the week of July 20, 2009, with 1036 total searches by participating agencies. This is the first time the weekly number of searches has gone over 1000 -- thanks for your participation!
